Job Description

Allen Butler Construction, Inc., a local mid-sized heavy highway civil construction company has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced Asphalt Plant Operator.

An asphalt plant manager is responsible for providing direction and overseeing the operation functions of plant including, pit, crushing, finishing, and load out. This position will require residency in Amarillo with occasional travel to the Corporate office in Lubbock.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with staff, management and operational staff on necessary pit, plant and load out issues.
  • Follows all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Coordinates necessary day to day operation of major portions of the plant.
  • Ensures a safe and clean working environment in the operating facility.
  • Ensures all areas of the plant is kept in good and safe working condition
  • Ensures all jobs are complete and job sites left clean.
  • Attend safety and department meetings.
  • Audits production, maintenance processes and promotes best practices.

Project Manager-Amarillo

Job Description

Allen Butler Construction, Inc., is expanding to the Amarillo area and we are in need of an experienced Project Manager.

This position will be responsible for managing a large heavy highway and civil construction project. Project size will be $5MM and up. The project manager will report directly to the Project Management Division Director and be responsible for all aspects of managing up to three projects concurrently. This position will require residency in Amarillo with occasional travel to the Corporate office in Lubbock.

  • Monthly Billing and Forecasting

This position requires a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Science or Management.

Service Lube Tech-Lubbock  

Job Description

Allen Butler Construction, Inc., a local mid-sized heavy highway civil construction company has an immediate opening for a service lube tech for heavy equipment.

A service lube tech assists with fueling equipment & preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Valid class B license required with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Experience with construction heavy equipment.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
  • Perform job tasks in accordance with industry best practices and requirements of the equipment (lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, sitting, walking, and climbing).
  • Effective Communication Skills (speech, vision, hearing/listening)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
  • Hours will vary with frequent OT required. This position typically is a 45+ hour weekly job.
  • Perform other duties as required, directed, or as the situation dictates.
